MOMS Club® of Lansdale, PA offers a variety of activities for our members and children. The goal of these activities is to provide mothers with an opportunity to meet and socialize with other parents and children in the local area. With the exception of Mom's Night out, activities are held primarily during the daytime hours on weekdays to meet the needs of parents who are home during the day with their children.
Our events are member driven. We encourage members to "host" events frequently and participate in others as much as they are able. Upon joining, members are provided with a monthly calendar to track our events and RSVP to indicate their plan to attend. Some of our most common activities include:
Our most common event (during warmer months) is meeting at a local park to play. Kids of any age are welcome to attend. Some of our favorite spots include Fischers Park, Plains Park, and the Montgomery Township Recreation Center and Splash Park.
Frequently, our members host "open play" sessions at their home or other location (ex. The Little Pod, Montgomery Mall play area, etc.) for children of any age. We also run age-group playgroups based on current member interest. Our current groups are "Little Kids" (infants and toddler) and "Big Kids" (approximately preschool age and above). Summer offers more variety of age separations as school age children are home during the day.
Our area has so much to offer, and we love taking advantage of that. For example, we like to arrange meet-ups at kid-friendly locations such as Freddy Hill or Merrymead Farm to see animals, have some ice cream, or go pumpkin picking. These activities are often seasonal in nature. We may meet-up at Rebounderz for Toddler Time, The Little Pod, or the Montgomery Mall.
Every other month or so, to discuss a book while the kids play. The book selection is determined by members at the previous month's meeting. Members can still come even if they have not read the book.
Lunch Bunch, Breakfast Club, and Ice Cream Socials
Playtime is sometimes centered on a particular meal. Moms bring a breakfast to share while the kids play. Everyone may pack a lunch or we make a pizza together for lunch bunch. Or, we all make some homemade ice cream sundaes for an ice cream social. We might meet at a local place such as Chick Fil' A for some lunch and playtime.
Moms Night Out
Once a month we hold a Moms Night Out. This is for the mom to get together in the evening to relax and socialize without the kids. We vary locations from restaurants, to a member's home, to other different fun activities.
This club meets frequently to share recipes and sample dishes.
Community Service Projects
From helping members in need by preparing meals and providing childcare, to holding raffles for a local charity, community service activities are a frequent part of the MOMS Club® calendar. Each year we host at least one event that will benefit mothers and children in need.
End of Year Banquet
Once a year, we hold a end of year dinner for our Moms. This is normally held in the summer when our executive board changes. The banquet is a nice way to say thank you to our members who have helped shape our chapter for the previous year.
